Harlestone Firs Autumn Session

Harlestone firs is on my doorstep and it’s one of my favourite places to go for a photoshoot, it helps that fir trees are evergreens and they hold there colour and leaves all year round so they always look great in photos. In the autumn months the rest of the in the firs are just stunning. As the leaves start to shed you see an array of colour from warm reds to browns to bright golden tones, it’s an explosion of colour and looks fabulous in photos.

This is my favourite time of year in the firs. For this session we arrived at dawn just as the sun was coming up, the firs were relatively quiet apart from a few dog walkers so we practically had the place to ourselves. We walked around and found some nice spots to create different looks, I like to offer a good variety of backdrops, on this occasion we had the fir trees, the colourful tree lined avenue, and the family also sat in an open area with the sun behind them create some gorgeous hair light images.

I love it when the family bring their treasured pet along, they are an important member of the family so need to feature in the images of course. Bo was so happy as always and loved having his photo taken!
