Family Sessions

The ultimate storytelling experience, my family sessions are the perfect way to showcase the love, spirit and personality of your family. My outdoor sessions are fun and natural, I’d love to explore with you and your family and my goal is to capture the connections you share together and bring them to life in a warm and loving image that you can look back on for years to come.

We will meet at a location of your choice or I’m happy to suggest my favourite locations for the perfect family portraits. Nowhere is off limits, it’s important that you are comfortable with the setting, maybe it’s your garden or the local park, field or forest.

I will get to know your children, and help them to relax and trust me. We’ll have lots of fun creating new memories that the whole family will enjoy. I like to set up some classic poses with everyone looking towards the camera and then I’ll also like take more candid images of you enjoying your time together as a family, it’s these moments you want to remember.

How it works

The Consultation

Once you have decided you want to go ahead with a photoshoot with me and booked your session, we schedule a time to chat where we will discuss any ideas and expectations you have as well as wardrobe and colour themes. This is the perfect chance to get to know each other in order to help us have a relaxed photo session. The session fee is required on booking in order to secure your session and a contract will also be exchanged before your session.

The Session

Feeling nervous about being in front of the camera? I know how that feels but please don’t worry, I want you to feel comfortable so I will take the time getting to know your family, helping you to relax and coaching you through each set up and pose, I’ll guide you through easy and natural interactions with your children so we can create precious, authentic moments that you’ll treasure. I’ll also give you tips on how to look your best. Typically, the session will last 1-2 hours at a location of your choice.

Online Viewing

2 weeks after your session you will receive an online slideshow of your images to view over a 24 hour period. After 24 hours your slideshow goes offline whilst you decide which package you would like to purchase. After your purchase, you will then get access to all the images from your session in order to make your digital selections for download and/or usb. Prints are included in your package and more are also available to purchase through your gallery.

Bespoke Framing

If you wish to discuss bespoke printing and framing options with me, we can arrange the viewing appointment to be at your home. After you have selected and purchased the package of choice, I will show you frame and album samples and talk you through all of your options to print and display your favourites in your home perfectly. Once we have designed your product it then takes up to 2 weeks for the lab to deliver.

Step One

Session Fees

The session fee is required to secure your booking and covers your pre-shoot consultation, the session time in your home and my time to professionally retouch your beautiful gallery. Weekday session fees are £50 and weekends are £80. This fee does not include any digital images. After viewing your gallery, you will then select a Collection of either 10 or 15 images or upgrade to Collection 3 receive the full gallery of digitals.

Step Two

The Collections

Select from one of the below collections to receive your digital images. Each collection comes with professional lab prints included in the price. There is the option to purchase addition prints via the online shop should you wish to. Upgrade to Collection 3 to take away the struggles of trying to choose your favourites – keep all 30 images as well as the slideshow of your gallery and £50 credit towards any bespoke frame and album service. Please note, the bespoke framing service requires a meeting to discuss options and to design your product (credit cannot be used in the online print shop). Please enquire for a pricing guide, all product is reasonably priced.

We will meet at a location of your choice or I’m happy to suggest my favourite locations. Nowhere is off limits, it’s important that you are comfortable with the setting, maybe it’s your garden or the local park, woodlands, field, forest or farm! My sessions are based around Northamptonshire but I’m also happy to travel further afield. 

Don’t be! I fully expect that at some point, I have 2 children myself and I know how they can lose their patience very quickly, they just want to explore and have fun, our session will allow them to do just that. They will be getting so much loving and attention and most importantly, cuddles that they’ll have a great time. I also have lots of enthusiasm and endless patience, I won’t be offended if there is a meltdown, we will work through it and let your child calm down in their own time.

Please don’t worry, you are! Everyone thinks they’re not photogenic but it’s my job to put you at ease and photograph you at your most flattering angles. I have studied posing and camera angles and I put all this into practice to make you look fabulous. I also want you to feel comfortable so I will take the time getting to know you and your family, helping you to relax and coaching you through each set up and pose, I’ll guide you through easy and natural interactions with your children so we can create precious, authentic moments that you’ll treasure. I’ll also give you tips on how to look your best. 

Of course I could do this but please think carefully about it. I always try to encourage the parents to get involved. Please remember your children don’t care about any insecurities you may have, what is or will be important to them is having photographs with their parents to look back on in the future. I bet you wish you had more with your own parents……

I’m definitely happy to help you with this! I can give you tips on what to wear and colour themes to work with way before the session. With a background in fashion and colour, I enjoy this part of my job. I love to plan and I’ll send you inspirational ideas and tips. You can also text or whatsapp me the outfits you are putting together and I’ll share my opinion with you on what will look best on camera. Likewise, if you are outdoor folk who love nothing more than to be in the countryside in your wellies and jeans then why not be photographed like that? It is very important that what you wear reflects who you actually are.

The session usually takes 1-2 hours. 

The British weather can be so unpredictable hey! Not to worry, if it’s heavy rain or high winds we can reschedule at no extra cost. I will always keep space in my diary to account for unexpected bad weather.

I do occasionally offer mini sessions, if you sign up to my email updates above you will be the first to know about them straight to your inbox!

Yes your online gallery will be fully retouched and ready to order. I check the exposure, crop then apply my artistic talents to bring the image to life in photoshop. I also do some light skin smoothing and blemish removal/dark circle correction if needed as well as easing flyaway hairs. If you have any extra requests please let do me know.

Following your photoshoot, I will aim to have your gallery ready within 14 days. You will then make your final selection and order the images you love, it takes approximately 2 weeks to deliver your print products to you, this may vary slightly depending on lead times from my suppliers.
